As a Controls Technician
, you will assist with equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls for building automation systems and security systems. Activities include installation and check out of electric and electronic components, conduit, wire, and cable while keeping records and documentation.
- Install conduit, wire cable, and devices including panels, sensors, and components for a range of systems.
- Perform and troubleshoot wiring check-out and assist with system start-up.
- Coordination with operations for the timely delivery of materials and supplies to the job site.
- Lead teammates through installation requirements and coordinate work for the installation team. May be required to assist with electrical installation estimates.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, requirements, and effective installations methods and practices.
- Experience installing conduit, shielded cable, CAT5 cable, etc.
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents, schematics, and project specific control submittals.
- Comfortable to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and both inside and outside.
- Use of hand tools, laptop, email and smartphone.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Differentiate between types and color wires.
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Associate degree or work experience preferred but not required.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar position.
