Heavy Equipment Oiler Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Oiler to join our team. This position is responsible for fueling, greasing, and performing routine service checks on heavy construction equipment across various job sites. The Oiler plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Fuel and lubricate heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, graders, haul trucks, etc.) in accordance with company standards and safety protocols.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
- Maintain accurate fueling and service records.
- Communicate with equipment operators and mechanics regarding equipment needs or issues.
- Safely transport and operate service truck with fuel and lube system to various job sites.
- Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations when handling hazardous materials.
- Monitor fluid levels, filters, and grease points, replenishing as required to reduce downtime.
- Support mechanics with equipment servicing as needed.
- Ensure all fueling/maintenance areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
- Report equipment deficiencies or safety concerns promptly to the Equipment Manager or Supervisor.
- Valid CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsement or Class B with tanker endorsement preferred.
- Previous experience working with heavy construction equipment is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing on/off equipment.
- Tolerance to outdoor work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Must be able to operate fueling/lubrication equipment safely and effectively.
Position is field-based with daily travel to various heavy-civil job sites. Requires flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends depending on project needs.
