Underground Miner​/Equipment Operator

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill an UNDERGROUND MINER / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR position at our Whites Creek Quarry
, located in Nashville, TN
.

The successful candidate will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground mining environment and a strong commitment to safety. In addition to operating equipment, this individual may be required to assist with the blasting process or perform ground maintenance to ensure safety and proper ventilation in the mine.

• Full-Time
• Day Shift
• Wages starting at $23.00/hr

• Operating a face drill and/or roof bolter in an underground hard rock mine
• Operating a wheel loader in a confined space to muck headings and load haul trucks
• Running a scaler or an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls
• Work with explosives and the blasting process to facilitate production
• General work around the quarry and other assigned duties as required
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence
• At least one year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader – is preferred
• Willing to work in an underground mining environment
• Willing to work with explosives and the blasting process – valid TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit – or ability to obtain/renew those permits
• Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space
• Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary
• Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
• Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision
