Our USGO American Gulf – Nashville Area team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Tennessee to support the operation and maintenance of our natural gas pipelines and associated facilities throughout Nashville and the surrounding area.

We’re seeking an experienced Multiskilled Technician who possesses knowledge and experience of high-pressure natural gas pipeline systems, reciprocating compressors, turbines, gas measurement facilities, and other related equipment. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision‑making skills. The successful candidate will be required to report out of our compressor station in Hartsville, TN.

What

You’ll Do
  • Locate and visually mark subsurface pipeline infrastructure with paint and/or flags
  • Oversee and manage pipeline or utility crossings and encroachments
  • Complete required Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Company documentation
  • Perform pipeline maintenance activities such as leak repair, clearing and inspection of right‑of‑way, and assisting with tie‑ins of mainline valves
  • Perform pipeline locates through the Ohio state one‑call system
  • Patrol pipeline right‑of‑way and assist with leak surveys
  • Operate company truck
  • Operate compressor engines and support equipment
  • Operate and maintain dehydration equipment
  • Operate and maintain all facility assets (painting, weed‑eating, housekeeping, etc.)
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical maintenance activities, including routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements, and major maintenance projects
  • Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas‑fired reciprocating compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low‑pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large‑bank cooler fans, gearboxes, large‑diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment
  • Assist in full or partial gas compressor overhauls (heads, pistons, rings, liners, pins, bushings, bearings)
  • Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, and create new work orders in SAP
  • Install, commission, test, repair, and maintain meter stations, communication systems, and other facilities related to the pipeline system
  • Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, calibrate, and repair various types of electronic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment
  • Maintain power, process controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), electric, and orifice meters
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain instrumentation, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatuses and fixtures using hand and power tools
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct breakdowns
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, ensuring compliance with codes
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using ohmmeters, voltmeters, frequency generators, and oscilloscopes
  • Oversee, direct, and perform tasks related to the installation, start‑up, and repair of measurement and regulation equipment (meters, recording gauges, flow computers, LCEM units, transmitters, relief valves, regulators, valve actuators, pneumatic and digital controllers, filtration devices, odorizers, gas quality devices)
  • Perform diagnostic tests, accuracy tests, calibrations, and replacements of measurement and regulation equipment using test equipment (Hart Communicator, Fluke meter)
