Essential Job Functions- Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start‑up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage electrical systems.
- Assist project lead in the functional testing of substation control circuits on relay panels, transformers & circuit breaker controls. Assist in isolation, setpoint testing, advanced logic testing, and scheme testing (reclosing, breaker failure, etc.).
- Assist with end‑to‑end relay testing using Doble Protection Suite, RTS, or Test Universe software to verify communication assisted protection schemes.
- Assist project lead in installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, relaying schemes, DFR equipment, SCADA systems, distribution automation systems and associated communication equipment.
- Assist project lead in developing written standard commissioning, testing and maintenance procedures for protective relaying, DFRs, RTUs, IEDs, Distribution Automation and associated communication systems.
- Generate customer reports describing the problem found and correction action taken / proposed.
- Maintain a professional attitude when representing the company during phone or personal contact with outside vendors, customers, or service providers.
- Prefer an associate's degree from an accredited 2‑year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an EE Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee), or Journeyman level Electrician.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Valid Driver's license and good driving record.
- Must be able to distinguish color coding of wires, fiber optics or other materials required by essential job functions.
- Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
- All offers are conditional on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening.
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
- Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
