This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations:
Troubadour Golf & Field Club set outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains all building equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment; and maintenance/cleaning equipment. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities- Complete all maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Facilities and Operations management.
- Monitor operation and proper use of all equipment and systems.
- Maintain all operation buildings/structures and temporary office trailers.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues throughout the club.
- Answer and respond to maintenance calls for assistance.
- Identify any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions, or maintenance needs.
- Monitor the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment.
- Communicate information related to tasks and projects that will impact service within other departments.
- Coordinate shutdown and start‑ups of utilities when conditions require it.
- Follow procedures for use of Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance.
- Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss scope of products and materials used in repair activities.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with Department Heads, Co-Worker, Members and Guests.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist Facilities Engineer in maintaining and repairing fire and life safety systems, room equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, kitchen appliances, refrigeration equipment, pool equipment, lighting, laundry equipment and other systems/equipment.
- Manage building check lists to ensure building assets are serviced according to schedule.
- Know all property emergency, safety/disaster plans and procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergencies.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
- 1+ years hands‑on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electrical, and snow removal.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight hours, and lifting items sometimes greater than fifty pounds.
