Entry Level Diesel Mechanic

Overview

Entry Level Diesel Mechanic role at Fleet Services by Cox Automotive. Fleet Services is a national leader in mobile onsite fleet maintenance and repair services with 24/7 in-house support and multiple service centers.

The position focuses on performing preventative maintenance and general repairs onsite at customer locations, using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle and tools provided by Fleet Services. You will work with a Lead Technician in your market and may participate in ongoing classroom and hands-on training as part of the program.

• Flee Tec Academy is a paid educational program that leads to a path to become a full-time Diesel Technician.
• 4 weeks of paid classroom training; all travel expenses paid.
• Free technical education and a toolbox with hand tools.
• Travel, hotel accommodations, and meals stipend provided; weekly pay during training.
• After classroom training, paired with a Lead Technician for hands-on training and potential full-time employment as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic in your market.
• Ongoing classroom refreshers as needed to develop skills; potential multi-year program progression with raises along the way.

• $13.08/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed)
• $19/hour after the first 6 weeks
• Second class for 4 weeks in Indy at $19/hour + $250/week (taxed)
• $21/hour upon graduation

• Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
• Willingness and ability to study hard; dedication to four weeks away from home for the program.
• Maturity and focus on task at hand; not a summer camp.
• Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
• Ability to operate an iPad; must be 21 to drive a company truck.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and physical require­ment.
