Transportation Officer

Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and secure management of the inmate, detainee and/or resident population and trip movement. Follows sound correctional and transportation industry practices.

• Senior Transportation Officer (after 6-9 months on average based on performance): $30.01
• Sign on bonus - $3,500
• Safety & Performance Bonus
  : up to $500 per quarter (every 3 months). $1,000 quarterly after promotion to STO. If you achieve all 4 quarters of the Safety and Performance bonus, you will receive an additional $250

  to receive the performance and safety bonus you must hold a full CDL and be OIC certified. To be OIC certified, you must complete nine trips and four OJT packets.
• $2,500
  - Referral bonus per person (no cap, and does not have to be at your same location)
• After 3-6 months in the TO role, you can take the OIC test and be promoted to Senior Transportation Officer (STO), which includes an hourly rate increase and eligibility for a quarterly bonus of up to $1,000 (every 3 months).
• Guaranteed 40 hour paycheck minimum per week

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to work changing hours
• Must be 21 or older
• Prefer: 1 year of any of the following: corrections experience, law enforcement, military police or military security background, detention officer experience, security officer experience detaining people or guarding people, or a degree in criminal justice or a related field
• Prefer: a valid Class A or B driver's license with airbrake and passenger endorsements or CDL Class A or B and willing to get airbrake and passenger endorsements

• Must be willing to travel to Nashville, TN for a 3-week paid training program (costs are all paid for as well) - dates are already determined and will be announced at the time of the interview process.
• Annual recertification and in-service training

• Summary of responsibilities includes ensuring safe and orderly operation of trips, monitoring and supervising inmate, detainee, and/or resident activity per policy, conducting inspections, maintaining communications, and ensuring proper use of restraints and force in accordance with policy and contract requirements.
• Must achieve and maintain Officer in Charge (OIC) certification to be eligible for assignment as an AOIC.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
