The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non‑profit, faith‑based organization, has an opening for a Housing Monitor/Security Guard for the Murfreesboro, TN location. This part‑time position offers shifts that vary but will not exceed 20 hours per week. The role is ideal for someone who thrives during evening hours and is passionate about helping others.

Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guards the security and safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.

• Observe and record client behavior and activities.
• Enforce security rules and guidelines.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Report incidents and communicate with staff.

• Knowledge of security practices and procedures.
• Ability to influence and control human behavior.
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required. Six months’ experience working with the public in a security or social‑service environment preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Ability to meet attendance requirements; work requires lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling light materials (less than 25 lbs). Duties involve standing, walking, and sitting. Work is performed in a normal social‑service housing environment with little or no physical discomfort due to weather or noise.
