Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused HVAC Counter Sales Associate to join our team in Birmingham, United States. In this role, you will be the go‑to expert for HVAC contractors, technicians, and DIY enthusiasts, providing top‑notch customer service and technical advice while driving sales of HVAC equipment and supplies.
- Assist customers with product selection, offering expert advice on HVAC systems, parts, and accessories
- Process sales transactions and manage customer accounts using point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Maintain accurate inventory records and restock shelves as needed
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product availability and resolve any issues
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest HVAC technologies, industry trends, and local building codes
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner
- Participate in ongoing product training to enhance knowledge and sales skills
- Support marketing initiatives and promotions to drive sales and customer loyalty
- Ensure a clean and organized sales floor and counter area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification preferred
- 1‑3 years of experience in HVAC sales or related field
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and industry best practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Proven sales ability and experience in a retail or counter sales environment
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including POS and inventory management software
- Basic math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and preparing quotes
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to HVAC installations
- Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organization abilities
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings as needed
