Position OverviewThe Molex Sales Team is looking for a dynamic, high‑energy, contribution‑motivated Sales Engineer to drive a multi‑state territory that includes Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The primary objective is to grow revenue and pipeline for Molex through demand creation and effective maintenance of existing business. This position is the primary interface to purchasing and engineering/development resources within the account base.
Molex LLC manufactures electronic, electrical, and connectivity systems. Our product portfolio serves aerospace and defense, data communications, medical, industrial, automotive, appliance, and consumer electronics. This person will be responsible for educating customers on the value Molex brings in the marketplace and how Molex differentiates itself. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for technology, a willingness to learn new products and applications, and is located within the territory. Strong motivation to travel in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee is required. The role drives profitable growth in key markets such as HVAC, data communications, industrial, and aerospace & defense, while staying open to emerging markets.
WhatYou Will Do In Your Role
- Understand customer applications, discuss needs, and offer solutions utilizing the entire Molex portfolio
- Maintain and expand professional business relationships within assigned accounts
- Build a strong, steady pipeline of demand‑creation activities to fuel continuous territory growth measurable by Salesforce performance to targets
- Maintain account profiles, contact lists, and Salesforce opportunity trackers
- Travel within the account base to drive profitable growth at key accounts while expanding the overall customer base in the market
- Self‑motivated and able to prioritize workload with minimal direct supervision
- Effectively build strategic customer and distributor relationships across a broad span of roles to maximize Molex’s ability to win business
- Become a subject matter expert on Molex capabilities and product portfolio, including developing new products for current and new programs
- Understand customer applications and effectively sell solutions both to the customer and to the business unit
- Organize, pay attention to detail, and follow through to ensure speed of execution and critical product launches
- Build relationships and network through strong interpersonal skills
- Communicate effectively both remotely and face‑to‑face
- Team oriented with strong collaboration and knowledge sharing capabilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical Preferred) or Business
- Experience in outside sales, field application engineering, or product/project management
- Experience in the electronics industry and/or manufacturing sector; specifically, HVAC, data communications, industrial, and aerospace & defense OEMs
- Strong account management skills with a proven track record of growth
- Existing relationships and a thorough understanding of the Huntsville and surrounding markets
- Ability to identify new strategic business opportunities and present business cases to internal stakeholders to gain necessary support to execute
- Experience collaborating and driving a pipeline with distribution partners
