Salary: $10.00 – $13.00 hourly
The Manager In Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties. The role involves knowledge of all product areas, supporting the store’s goals and initiatives, upholding policies and procedures, promoting sales and promotions, and creating a unique customer experience. The Manager in Training will assume supervisory control in the absence of the Store Manager and receive training on the full scope of store management responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett.
- Consult with management to establish action plans for department and store-wide responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Stay aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
- Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
- Keep store leadership informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Assure quality customer service is maintained. li>Perform general administrative duties as needed and undergo training in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Deliver exemplary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual, including greeting customers and assisting multiple customers during peak periods.
- Promote and sell Hibbett services and merchandise.
- Adhere to all Hibbett policies, procedures, and standards listed in the operations policy manual, personnel policy manual, visual manual, customer service manual, and related memos.
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk to management or appropriate officials.
- Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, and resolving problems in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1–3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
- Self‑starter with initiative to take on important tasks without prompting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
- Team player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
