Early Morning Stock Associate

General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, treats teammates with respect, follows best practice standards in all work centers, maintains a clean work area, and presents merchandise properly. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require.

Essential Functions
  • Safety is the highest priority; practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor, create a safe and secure shopping environment, keep egress clear, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assist customers: register‑trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely, greet all customers with eye contact and a smile.
  • Provide prompt and efficient responses to customers; handle all customer issues courteously and call store leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
  • Maintain a professional appearance; adhere to the dress code.
  • Perform sizing and recovery per best practice to ensure a neat, clean and organized store.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor urgently, merchandise all items per best practice, and maintain merchandise/brand familiarity.
  • Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, the Store Protection Specialist (SPS) position, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty; safeguard confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies and process each piece; notify store leadership for disposal approval.
  • Follow all policies concerning cash, check, charge card and refund transactions; maintain awareness and accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency to perform your role efficiently and maximize productivity by executing all store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

Effectively communicate with customers, associates and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements /Ada
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
  • Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
  • For associates who work stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
