The Medical Surgical Services Specialty Educator is responsible for the development of educational materials and activities designed to improve professional practice and the provision of quality patient care in this specialty area. This includes educational aspects of orientation and onboarding of clinical employees, clinical professional development, and development of education that addresses practice gaps for identified target audiences within an identified specialty to achieve specific outcomes.

This position will facilitate work across work groups, interacting with various stakeholders to ensure all course material is developed and implemented using HCA’s clinical education standards.

• Participates in strategic planning and business development within area(s) of responsibility to support new service offerings, technology advances and other opportunities to drive differentiation and support the growth agenda through the development of educational programs
• Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company supported community/patient events and in-services.
• Stays abreast of external factors and opportunities impacting healthcare; to include political, legislative and regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and advancements in healthcare delivery
• Understands the competitive landscape. Supports the organization to respond to these changing healthcare dynamics and market environments through clinical education
• Operates within the annual budget
• Optimizes department performance in accordance with established budget, including the utilization of staffing, supplies, equipment identifying cost reduction opportunities to achieve savings
