The RN for Medical Specialty Clinic will be responsible for the direct care of the patient. The RN is primarily and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care, and identifying outcomes for patients in the outpatient clinical setting.
The RN for Specialty Clinic reports to the Nurse Manager and the Chief Nurse Operations, at Nashville, Nursing Service. The RN has continuing responsibility for the following functions:
Coordinates orders and implements comprehensive and evidence-based program for prevention and maintenance of skin and wounds.
Provides patient and staff education, assist staff to initiate appropriate discharge referrals based on evaluation of patient's physical, psychological, and self-care status. Position may entail additional duties as assigned. Will also Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient.
The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.
Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team Functions.
Knowledge with cardiac devices as well as EKG device interrogation and telemetry knowledge have experience with sedation. Have experience with dobutamine stress tests, exercise stress test and tilt table.
