The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, identifying nursing problems, planning individualized care through an interdisciplinary approach, and participating in performance improvement activities to support the hospital’s mission and vision.

When acting as a charge nurse, responsibilities include day‑to‑day oversight to ensure quality patient care, staff assignments based on patient need, acuity and skill, serving as a role model and clinical resource, and responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff or patients.

• Demonstrate age‑specific knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients.
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
• Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care meeting patient needs.
• Demonstrate technical skill proficiency and procedural competence.
• Document all patient care accurately.

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Tennessee State Board of Nursing or the Compact State.
• Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
• One year of RN experience.

Tri Star Summit is a 230+ bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. The hospital includes a Level III Trauma Center and offers a full array of acute care services, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics/spine, rehabilitation and women’s services. It is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center. HCA Healthcare partners support emergency heart and stroke care.
