The Registered Nurse ECMO Specialist coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The RN ECMO Specialist performs Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy to support patients with impaired heart and lung function and serves as an advocate for patients.
What you will do in this role- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
- Prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry in accordance with ECMO policies.
- Maintain and assess ECMO circuit function.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend revisions to the multidisciplinary care team.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN).
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Registered Nurse diploma in Nursing.
