As a(an) Observation Unit Nurse you can be a part of change.

Summit is the busiest level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee. In this position you will be working in a 25 bed Observation Unit. This unit cares for patients who are anticipated to discharge in 24-48 hours from admission. The diagnoses we would care for would be chest pain awaiting a stress test, angioedema patients, TIA patients whose symptoms have resolved, and dehydration due to nausea/vomiting/diarrhea who just need IV fluids and some electrolyte replacement and can go home quickly.

If they need further care after they are admitted to the observation unit, they will be transferred to another inpatient unit.

There are unlimited growth opportunities at HCA! This position will provide a great pathway for nurses that are interested in growing into an ICU position. As well as becoming a Charge Nurse, Preceptor,being part of a Unit Based Council, and growing into a Leadership role.
