Intensive Care Nurse

Overview

Tri Star Summit Medical Center is seeking a Critical Care Nurse to join our healthcare family. Summit is the busiest level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee and operates an 18-bed Surgical ICU that primarily cares for general critical patients and post-cardiac intervention. Our nurses are celebrated for frontline care and empathy for patients.

• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Provide respiratory care, ventilator management, and monitoring for patients.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

• RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required within 3 months of hire or transfer from non-ICU area.
• Specialty certification preferred.
• One to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• ICU experience preferred.

Tri Star Summit is a 234-bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties with a Level III Trauma Center. We offer cardiology, oncology, orthopedics/spine, rehabilitation, women’s services, an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, and a Primary Stroke Center.
