RN - PCU

This is a 13-week contract position.

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) providing high-quality care for patients needing advanced monitoring. This unit caters to critically ill patients, typically providing a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio overnight.

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs and responses.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team ensuring optimum patient care.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
• Utilize advanced equipment including bipaps, high flow O2, and cardiac drips.
• Engage in patient rounding to ensure safety and satisfaction.

• Must have BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with critical thinking, EKG rhythm interpretation, and drip medications (cardiac, heparin, insulin).
• Preferred experience in peritoneal dialysis and peripheral IV skills.
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tube placements is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
