2nd Shift Brewer - The Nations Brewing Co.
The Nations Brewing in Nashville, TN is looking for a well-rounded, positive brewer to join our growing team! This is a full-time, hourly position for second shift (12PM-8PM). The Brewer will assist in brewing and cellaring operations, working under little or no supervision in a timely manner and with acceptable quality.
Job SummaryPosition is full-time, hourly, second shift (12PM-8PM). Responsible for operational and quality standards during all production, sanitation, and safety procedures, with limited weekend work as needed. Reports to the Brewery Floor Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage time wisely to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Participate in training procedures for brewing staff.
- Update and report on inventory and quality management of raw materials and chemicals.
- Keep accurate daily production records per company and Federal Requirements.
- Complete scheduled tasks following company standard operating procedures and guidelines (SOP/SOG).
- Assist management in the creation/maintenance of SOP/GMP.
- Follow all safety procedures and sanitary processes.
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
- Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals using appropriate PPE.
- Assist in maintaining all beer production areas, including equipment (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation, filtration, bulk grain, spent grain area, walkways and driveways).
- Daily tank monitoring, tank/line cleaning, transferring/filtering/centrifuging/carbonating beer, additions of fruit/hops/etc. to products.
- Assist with equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as directed.
- Continue to expand brewing knowledge via books, articles, and technical seminars throughout employment.
- Represent Nations Brewing Company and our family of brands at company events and beer festivals.
- Completion of an accredited brewing program, such as the Siebel Institute or the UC Davis Master Brewer’s Program is advantageous, but not required.
- Knowledge of beer history, production, ingredients, and tasting.
- 1+ years in the brewing industry, or comparable schooling is advantageous, but not required.
- Food/Beverage/Brewery Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred).
- Experience with heavy machinery, brewing, and laboratory equipment is advantageous.
- Organization, planning, and execution.
- Computer programs:
Microsoft Office Suite. - Autonomy, situational awareness, safety awareness, and problem-solving.
- Physical ability (stand, lift, and work in harsh conditions, including movement of an object weighing up to 150 lbs using proper techniques).
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude (required).
