Overview
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.
Responsibilities- Check all machine safety devices before operating equipment and record and sign the appropriate equipment safety form. If a machine does not pass safety inspection, the operator will not operate the unit and will notify the supervisor.
- Load washers and dryers by retrieving slings from storage, maneuvering slings to the washer/dryer rails, and loading items into the machines. Verify batch tickets to avoid mixing lots and batches; stage similar batches together for efficient product usage.
- Position machines in the proper loading position, remove batch tickets, load the washer/dryer by untying the bottom cord of the sling, operate the machine, and start the cycle. Record batch ticket information on the machine display forms as required.
- For washers, record the weight from the batch ticket into the SOFTROL system. For dryers, re-tie the sling and transport to the hoist staging area.
- Unload washers and dryers: open doors, manage carts and slings, place batch tickets on items, and store items in the appropriate area. Ensure items are properly cooled and moisture levels are correct; if not, re-dry as needed.
- Verify moisture retention, prevent overloads of carts/tubs, ensure items are at proper temperature, confirm slings are free of excessive water, and ensure all items are properly cooled.
- Identify and remove any slings with rips or tears from the system. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to understand required training, written, and verbal instructions.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in a warehouse setting and exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Shifts may include weekends; overtime may be required as needed.
- Requires the ability to move or maneuver slings or carriers weighing up to 220 lbs; the ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull product weighing up to 50 lbs; bending, reaching, pulling, and pressing at shoulder level and below the waist; use of hands for grasping and other manipulations; standing and walking for long periods.
