The Manager, Emergency Management & Safety is responsible for implementing and managing enterprise-wide safety and emergency management programs that protect Health Trust’s people, assets, and operations. This role ensures operational readiness for all-hazards events, maintains OSHA compliance, and integrates safety and emergency protocols across facilities, distribution centers, and office operations.
Working closely with the Director of Emergency Management, the Manager develops, tests, and maintains Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs), safety annexes, and hazard-specific protocols, aligning with CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule, Joint Commission standards, NIMS/ICS, and ISO 22301. The role also coordinates training, exercises, incident support, and post-incident improvements to ensure readiness at both the facility and enterprise level.
This position plays a critical role in safeguarding employee wellbeing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing resilience within Health Trust-operated facilities, including warehouses, offices, and clinical support operations. The Manager will coordinate readiness initiatives across departments, assist with incident response operations, and contribute to exercise development, corrective action planning, and hazard-specific protocols.
What you will do in this role Safety and Regulatory Compliance- Develop and maintain OSHA-compliant safety programs for distribution centers, offices, and logistics hubs.
- Conduct facility safety audits, hazard assessments, and maintain and drive corrective action tracking.
- Develop training materials and lead education on workplace safety, ergonomics, and injury prevention.
- Monitor, track, and report on safety incidents, near misses, and regulatory findings to leadership.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to implement security and access control measures.
- Support deployment and maintenance of physical security systems (surveillance, alarms, badge access).
- Coordinate with corporate security and third-party vendors to ensure facility protection during incidents.
- Maintain and test EOPs, safety annexes, and hazard-specific plans across sites.
- Support Health Trust Emergency Readiness Center (HERC) operations during activations, fulfilling designated ICS roles.
- Help coordinate continuity of operations and life safety planning for warehousing and logistics during hurricanes, severe weather, cyber incidents, and supply disruptions.
- Coordinate with facility leadership on hazard mitigation and readiness improvements.
- Develop and deliver safety and emergency management training programs.
- Plan and participate in tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises; develop AARs and track corrective actions.
- Manage documentation, reporting, and project timelines for enterprise safety and emergency initiatives.
- Develop performance metrics and dashboards for safety, security, and preparedness programs.
- Participate in enterprise risk assessments and mitigation planning with HCA and facility leaders.
- Maintain compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, DHS, and CMS.
- Provide regular metrics and updates to the Director of Emergency Management and enterprise leadership.
