Description

Do you want to be part of the foundational team driving innovation and efficiency in Amazon’s last mile fleet operations? The Fleet Operations and Capacity Management team is seeking a motivated Senior Program Manager to be a core member of the Variable Fleet team. In this role, you will manage end-to-end variable fleet capacity supply and execution during high-volume events across Amazon’s U.S. and Canadian delivery network.

As the Variable Fleet Capacity and Execution Senior Program Manager, you will serve as the Single Threaded Leader managing rental supply from Preferred Rental Providers (PRPs) and allocating vehicles to Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) through the Amazon Direct Rental (ADR) product. You will ensure vehicles are available at the right locations and times during both High Volume Events and throughout the year.

Your role includes supporting the High Volume Event Tiger Team to secure adequate rental capacity during peak seasons while developing strategies to optimize fleet utilization year-round. This position requires data-driven decision-making to balance supply constraints with operational demands across Amazon’s delivery network.

Responsibilities
  • Manage rental supply from Preferred Rental Providers (PRPs), securing 50K vehicles during peak seasons through the Amazon Direct Rental (ADR) product

  • Lead capacity planning and execution for variable fleet operations, ensuring optimal vehicle allocation to Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) at the right place and time

  • Serve as Single Threaded Leader for High Volume Event (HVE) Tiger Team initiatives, managing day-to-day execution of multi-station operations and pop-up/pop-in delivery stations

  • Drive VIN-level visibility and tracking to ensure on-time delivery execution across the network

  • Manage long-term rental fleet operations with focus on supply utilization, ensuring vehicles are used when needed throughout the year

  • Negotiate and manage third-party rental partnerships to secure adequate capacity during peak and year-round operations

  • Own financial analysis and budget tracking for variable fleet programs, making data-driven decisions to optimize costs

  • Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, increase acceptance rates at station and DSP levels, and balance supply constraints with operational demands

  • Serve as escalation point for DSP-related issues concerning Amazon Direct Rental vehicles, demonstrating strong communication skills and knowing when to escalate appropriately

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast delivery capacity needs and implement process improvements that drive operational excellence
