The Device Care Center Security and Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment by implementing safety protocols, managing security operations, and overseeing compliance with federal, state, local laws, company procedures and certifications.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Security Oversight
- Develop and enforce safety and security policies and procedures to protect employees, assets, and the organization.
- Manage and lead an outsourced security force to maintain a safe and secure working environment.
- Risk Assessment
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Culture of Security
- Promote a positive culture of security and awareness within the facility through continuous communication and engagement.
- Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
- Manage site Safety Committee and collaborate with the IMS Compliance team on RIOS/R2/ISO certifications.
- Consult with HR, Risk Departments, and staffing agencies to ensure recordables are accurately captured and reported.
- Champion and promote the safety priorities throughout the facilities, encouraging open dialogue with all stakeholders.
- Emergency Response Planning
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring readiness for various scenarios.
- Coordinate with local emergency services and agencies to ensure a swift and effective response.
- Provide training to employees on emergency response procedures.
- Training and Education
- Conduct security and safety training programs for employees, associates, and security personnel.
- Keep employees informed about safety and security policies and procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the organization.
- Function as the subject matter expert to assist training departments in building training modules.
- Incident Management
- Function as the Incident Commander during emergencies, managing the response and recovery efforts.
- Investigate and document security/safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses and prepare incident reports.
- Implement corrective action plans to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
- Maintain incident records and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities.
- Analyze incident data to identify trends in injuries, accidents, or other hazards.
- Maintain and update recordkeeping such as OSHA 300.
- Ensure incidents are documented properly and thoroughly.
- Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with security service providers, ensuring the quality of service and adherence to agreements.
- Address issues as they arise.
- Function as the subject matter expert and provide market related information during RFPs.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in security management, safety management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in security and safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and security best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in security and safety software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of supervisory experience or in law enforcement or security services, including military experience; retail loss prevention; or building security in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- OHSA 30 hour trained and experienced preferred.
- Expertise in principles and practices of management, supervision and training; >
- Expertise in principles and practices of public safety and security, including injury prevention, ergonomics, incident tracking; investigation, security assessments, emergency preparedness, training and OSHA compliance;
- Knowledge of trends and developments concerning safety and security;
- Ability to take prompt action to address issues, solve problems and support the organization;
- Outstanding communication and time-management skills;
- Sound judgment and the ability to make independent decisions;
Knowledge of federal, State and local laws, regulations, ordinances and best practices;
