Job Summary

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, inspection, and control of all custodial and related services associated within the assigned contract. Specific responsibilities are determined by client expectations and the discretion of the Director of Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Properly allocate work responsibilities among subordinates.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work activities of assigned areas (common areas, service hallways, food court, etc.).
  • Understand contract requirements and create schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels.
  • Approve vacation time, overtime, and timecards; train custodians on work‑related equipment.
  • Supervise, motivate, discipline, and evaluate staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Consult and coordinate with customer management representatives regarding service performance.
  • Resolve client concerns and conduct inspections to ensure satisfactory job performance.
  • Meet regularly with subordinates to review status of service elements and implement corrective actions; monitor supply inventory.
  • Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and perform hands‑on cleaning when required.
Requirements
  • Strong organizational, planning, and attention‑to‑detail skills with excellent follow‑through.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Minimum of five to ten years of supervisory experience with custodial and related employees in major facilities.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services; flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on‑call duties.
  • High school education or equivalent preferred; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including criminal history.
