Controller About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Controller to join our client's leadership team. This role will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions, ensuring the company maintains strong financial health and supports its mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of healthcare finance, revenue cycle operations, and GAAP compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with executive leadership to support business growth, financial forecasting, and decision-making.
- Provide analysis and recommendations on budgets, cash flow, and cost management.
- Monitor healthcare revenue cycle, reimbursement trends, and payer relationships to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare industry regulations.
- Manage annual audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Supervise and mentor a small team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Promote cross-department collaboration with operations, HR, and clinical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Previous experience in healthcare required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and healthcare reimbursement.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
