Application Specialist
South Western Communications is a trusted source for communication, physical security and life safety solutions for healthcare, education, detention and commercial customers. We conduct consultative needs analyses and deliver integrated, best‑in‑class solutions.
Responsibilities- Train customers (end users and administrators) on all SWC systems installed at the customer’s location.
- Coordinate on‑site, virtual and digital training sessions.
- Test system functionality against documented requirements before training.
- Work closely with sales to assess customer needs and expectations for training and implementation support.
- Collaborate with project managers, analysts and technicians to ensure correct system operation through thorough testing.
- Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution, referring technical staff when necessary.
- Ensure customers understand how to obtain service and support post‑implementation.
- Present a positive, professional image to the community on behalf of SWC.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Frequent daily travel to customer sites.
- Occasional overnight travel to Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.
- Adhere to Application Specialist role standards and processes.
- Document types of training required and completed training sessions.
- Document support provided to customers.
- Maintain records of projected and actual training hours to evaluate continuous improvement.
BS or AS degree in Business Administration, Education, Nursing.
Desirable Experience- Process Improvement Training (e.g., Lean‑Sigma).
- Clinical IS Experience.
- Clinical Informatics.
- Experience in Nursing, Education or Training roles.
- Detail‑oriented with creative aptitude and passion for training and customer service.
- Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting, multi‑tasking and time‑management skills.
- Ability to present and disseminate technical information to diverse groups.
- Ability to learn in both organized classroom environments and individually.
- Continuous learning of new technologies and a technical curiosity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of management methods, techniques and the Microsoft Suite of software.
- Stand, walk, climb, sit, and use hands and fingers.
- Lift up to fifty pounds.
- Reach, grasp, and carry activities.
- Work in a moderate noise level environment.
- Occasional outdoor activities subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
