As a Network Deployment Technician at AWS, you will help build and maintain a cloud computing infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves periods working independently of your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
  • Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration.
  • Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations.
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects.
  • Resolve data center and facility issues.
  • Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues.
  • Lead small to mid‑size network deployment projects.
  • Build relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events.
  • Perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meet AWS standards.
  • Improve operational processes within each site and/or cage.
  • Provide status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
  • Decommission cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift & rack equipment up to 40 lbs; may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations following health & safety guidelines.
  • Travel:
    Up to 50% travel; majority local with potential for domestic and international travel.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of computer networking experience.
  • 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
  • Experience in computer networking.
  • Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience in a relevant technical discipline.
