Performs analysis, maintenance, testing, and support of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Supports system software, database activities, user workflows, training, auditing, reporting, and downtime procedures. Maintains system software and manages the database for all LIS applications.

- Perform configuration updates such as print routing, label templates, reference ranges, and test dictionary fields.
- Troubleshoot workstation, printer, and instrument connectivity issues.
- Run LIS queries and metrics to support quality, workflow monitoring, or leadership needs.
- Perform data integrity tasks such as resolving duplicate records and correcting mapping issues.
- Tests and evaluates potential solutions for reports, queries, and upgrades prior to final implementation.
- Execute structured test scripts for upgrades, patches, and build changes.
- Validate accuracy and formatting of reports and queries before release.
- Compare pre‑ and post‑change functionality to identify regressions or workflow impacts.
- Document all validation results and elevate findings when needed.
- Participate in change control processes for LIS updates.
- Conduct LIS user‑access audits and ensure security compliance.
- Audit workflow accuracy including critical value actions and autoverification.
- Generate audit logs required for CAP/CLIA regulatory compliance.
- Review system performance and identify trends requiring configuration adjustments.
- Implements policies and procedures for operation, maintenance, down‑time, and disaster recovery of LIS.
- Maintain and update downtime procedures and related documentation.
- Participate in downtime drills and capture corrective actions.
- Perform post‑downtime validation and reconcile discrepancies.
- Support updates to LIS‑related SOPs and operational policies.
- Provide end‑user troubleshooting and workflow support.
- Deliver user training sessions for new staff and workflow changes.
- Maintain training materials, job aids, and quick‑reference guides.
- Partner with lab leadership to identify workflow optimization opportunities.
- Build routine and ad‑hoc reports based on operational needs.
- Validate report logic and verify data accuracy.
- Prepare scheduled dashboards or metrics for leadership review.
- Analyze report trends to identify workflow delays, bottlenecks, or QC issues.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and customer service abilities.
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a clinical environment.
This is a Contract position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
