What you will accomplish in this role

As a Senior Clinical Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming complex clinical and business data into actionable insights that support key operational initiatives. You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organization to define meaningful metrics, ensure accurate data collection, and champion data integrity within the HCA Healthcare Intelligence Net (HIN).

In this role, you will lead efforts to improve data quality and standardization, serving as a trusted subject matter expert for clinical data. Success requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams.

The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with healthcare data systems and technologies such as MS SQL Server, Teradata, HL7 v2.x, and FHIR Services. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with business partners and technical teams to deliver solutions that make a measurable impact on patient care. Knowledge of healthcare information standards and regulations is highly desirable.

What you will do in this role:
  • Perform in-depth analysis of clinical and business data to uncover insights, resolve data issues, and implement strategies that enhance data quality and standardization.
  • Partner with business leaders, analysts, and IT teams to define reporting requirements and ensure data is accurate, reliable, and actionable.
  • Create and maintain the clinical data catalog, serving as a trusted resource for data integrity and accessibility.
  • Work closely with system teams to understand data intent, establish lineage, and maintain historical data strategies within the HCA Healthcare Intelligence Net (HIN).
  • Participate in logical and physical data modeling discussions, contributing to design reviews that support scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Review defects and data quality issues throughout the reporting lifecycle, driving resolutions that improve outcomes.
  • Document domain requirements and collaborate with development teams to deliver accurate, high-performing system specifications.
  • Conduct data profiling and utilize automated tools to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use strong technical and problem‑solving skills to assess risks, analyze complex issues, and recommend practical, innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant data domain and processes analysis is required
  • 5+ years of experience in working with relevant health information systems is required
  • Extensive experience in mapping health information system data into a business intelligence solution is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare and information technology is strongly preferred; seeking 5 or more years for relevant experience.
