Desktop Support Engineer – Windows & Mac

Requirements

• Proficient in building and installing PCs, phone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, mobile/smartphones) related to desktop infrastructure
• Experience providing guidance and support to colleagues for incident resolution
• Ability to conduct routine maintenance on PCs, networks, phone systems, and peripherals
• Skilled in identifying, logging, and resolving technical issues with software applications or network systems
• Capable of suggesting potential changes and improvements to senior team leaders
• Familiarity with maintaining work within service level agreements and department guidelines
• Competence in creating, maintaining, and distributing progress reports to senior leadership
• Experience in migrating servers from Windows XP to Windows 7 or higher
• Ability to maintain client databases with up-to-date solutions and clear activity records
• Proficient in explaining and documenting technical issues clearly to clients
• Experience using a call logging system to accurately record requests
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interact with clients and manage escalations effectively
• Highly motivated to achieve business objectives
• Capability to cultivate and sustain strong working relationships
• Knowledge of ITIL principles

• Build and install desktop PCs, phone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices according to departmental standards
• Provide consultation and support to team members for incident management
• Conduct routine maintenance on installed PCs, networks, telephone systems, and peripherals
• Identify, log, and troubleshoot technical issues related to software applications and network systems
• Propose potential improvements and changes to senior management for consideration
• Ensure compliance with agreed service levels and departmental guidelines in daily operations
• Create and share reports regarding progress with senior leadership
• Manage the migration of servers from Windows XP to Windows 7 or higher version
• Keep client databases updated with relevant solutions and activity logs
• Communicate technical issues to clients in an understandable manner
• Accurately document service requests using a call logging system
• Perform software packaging in accordance with package requirement forms within required timelines
• Diagnose packaging issues and conduct quality assurance on software packages
• Collaborate with Transitions/Transformation teams for solution packaging as per statement of work
• Schedule and analyze the distribution of software packages to the target audience
• Update workflow management tools to track all software distribution activities
• Report issues affecting distribution timelines or success
• Execute software distribution remediation for unsuccessful deployments
• Generate deployment reports and coordinate actions with relevant teams to achieve 100% success rate
• Conduct monthly patch management to ensure full compliance
