Data Center Manager

This position involves leading teams in hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an on‑call rotation. Candidates must work independently and manage teams effectively, prioritizing work, organizing, communicating, and reacting quickly. Strong knowledge in Data Centers, hardware and network repair is required. The role operates 24/7 within a night shift schedule with adjustments to meet operational demands.

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
• Manage performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across different locations.
• Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Ensure effective day‑to‑day data center operations, including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangement, and hardware logistics.
• Act as subject‑matter expert across all aspects in data center operations.
• Track and meet all operational KPIs and metrics.
• Inspire and guide improvement in team process, technology innovation, and automation.
• Lead large‑scale outage events and act as call leader.
• Improve workflows and throughput for data center operations.
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
• Maintain the on‑call schedule, coordinating absences and vacations.
• Continuously strive to improve customer experience.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast‑paced technology company and a leader in data center operations. This role ensures overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels.

• 2+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment.

• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing.
• Experience in technical writing in a relevant field.
• Certifications such as CCENT, Network+, CCNA.
• Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
