IT Project Manager – Cere Core

Job Summary

Cere Core is seeking an experienced Project Manager with an IT background to join our dynamic healthcare IT team. This position is based in Nashville, TN and operates in a hybrid work environment, combining remote flexibility with in‑office collaboration.

In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects that support enterprise technology environments. Ideal candidates will have experience managing initiatives involving networking, hardware refreshes, server builds, and infrastructure upgrades. We welcome a talented Project Manager with strong IT and healthcare experience, who brings a disciplined, task‑oriented approach to ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with defined scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients and technical teams to define project requirements, goals, and deliverables for infrastructure initiatives such as network upgrades, data center migrations, and hardware deployments.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities related to IT infrastructure (e.g., networking equipment, servers, software licenses), ensuring alignment with procurement timelines and budget constraints.
  • Work closely with Network Engineers and Systems Administrators to plan and execute technical tasks, resolve dependencies, and communicate progress to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, task lists, and progress reports — ensuring all deliverables, action items, and follow‑ups are clearly tracked and completed.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication across stakeholders, including technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Drive lessons‑learned discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
  • Provide structure and accountability for multiple concurrent work streams, maintaining attention to detail and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional, proactive, and transparent project management practices.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience, preferably leading IT infrastructure or enterprise technology initiatives, but strong technology experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing projects involving network engineering, server environments, or hardware refreshes.
  • Familiarity with IT purchasing and vendor coordination strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage detailed task plans, monitor progress, and proactively address obstacles to maintain momentum.
  • Experience working directly with Network Engineers and Systems Administrators, with the ability to translate technical details into business terms for stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall or Agile project management methodologies preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated accountability, adaptability, and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and client satisfaction.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and respect for diversity in experience and perspective.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Information Systems, Business, or related field).
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent advanced credential in Project Management, Information Systems, or related discipline is a plus.
