Principal Cloud Architect, Higher Education - West

We are seeking an Enterprise AI & Cloud Architect with strong familiarity with R1 research institutions, higher‑education IT and research computing ecosystems. The ideal candidate understands how universities evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, particularly AI platforms, data‑intensive research workflows, as well as hybrid and federated compute architectures and can translate those needs into well‑architected solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This role requires the ability to engage credibly with CIOs, Research IT, campus HPC leaders, and Principal Investigators, connecting OCI’s capabilities to real‑world challenges such as scaling AI research, augmenting constrained on‑prem clusters, and enabling secure, compliant, and cost‑aligned AI adoption across campus.

Prior OCI experience is not required, but a strong understanding of research computing, AI workload patterns, data lifecycle considerations, and higher‑education funding and budget models is highly preferred.

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
