About the Role:

FOCUSPOINT is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Light Controller for one of our clients. This role is ideal for a versatile and detail-oriented professional to manage daily accounting tasks while supporting broader financial operations. This role is perfect for someone who would enjoy combining transactional accuracy with strategic insight.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions (AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations)
• Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments
• Reconcile accounts and ensure timely month-end close
• Manage general ledger entries and adjustments
• Prepare basic financial reports for internal review
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Help implement and monitor internal controls and accounting policies
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
• Contribute to financial strategy and process improvement

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Required Skills:

• Detail-oriented
• Strong analytical skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with financial strategy
• Knowledge of tax regulations
