Human Resources Manager – Manufacturing/Industrial Sector
Location:
Nashville, TN (Onsite, with occasional travel)
Base Pay Range: $/yr - $/yr
A growing industrial company is seeking a passionate, driven Human Resources Manager to lead and elevate its HR function. This newly created, office-based position reports directly to the company President. The successful candidate will be the first dedicated HR leader in the organization, tasked with building structure, driving strategic HR initiatives, and shaping a positive culture for a diverse workforce across multiple sites.
WhatYou'll Do
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, talent retention, and restructuring projects
- Manage employee relations, resolve conflicts, and foster engagement initiatives across all levels
- Design and implement compliance programs (EEOC, FMLA, OSHA, TOSHA, MIOSHA)
- Drive performance management, training, and career development programs
- Support compensation and benefits management, including benchmarking and annual reviews
- Update policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to ensure legal compliance
- Collaborate with leadership on safety, culture, and change initiatives
- Represent HR on the shop floor, working closely with hourly and salaried employees
- Coordinate with local colleges and universities on intern programs
- Partner with group-wide and central teams to deliver HR projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SCP) preferred
- 5–7 years’ experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing/industrial setting
- Proven expertise in HR generalist and management roles
- Hands‑on skills with HRIS systems (ADP, Paycom, Bamboo
HR, Paylocity) - Strong knowledge of US labor law and compliance for manufacturing environments
- Excellent communicator, relationship‑builder, and coach
- Strategic thinker who enjoys autonomy, structure, and continuous learning
- Comfortable with office‑based, industrial warehouse settings and regular shop floor interaction
- Occasional travel required (10–15%, primarily to a nearby manufacturing site)
