About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Consultant with deep, hands-on experience in UKG (Ulti Pro) and ADP Workforce Now (WFN). This role is ideal for a polished payroll professional who excels in navigating complex payroll environments, supporting system transitions, and ensuring seamless, compliant payroll operations.

You will partner closely with HR, Finance, IT, and third‑party vendors to support payroll system migrations, implementations, and optimization projects

Payroll Processing & Operational Support
  • Process full‑cycle, multi‑state payroll with accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and troubleshooting to resolve discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries; research and correct payroll issues as needed.
  • Support tax reconciliation, reporting, deductions, garnishments, and wage compliance.
Implementations, Conversions & Migrations
  • Lead or support the implementation of UKG and ADP WFN payroll platforms.
  • Perform data mapping, configuration, parallel testing, user acceptance testing, and validation.
  • Assist with legacy system evaluation and historical data conversions.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and third‑party system vendors.
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure adherence to FLSA, federal, state, and local wage/tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate setup of multi‑state tax jurisdictions.
  • Prepare payroll summaries, audit documentation, year‑end reports, and ad hoc analysis.
Consulting & Process Improvement
  • Assess payroll workflows and recommend best‑practice improvements.
  • Train payroll and HR staff on new system features, workflows, and tools.
  • Provide expert guidance during periods of organizational expansion, acquisitions, or new system rollouts.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with both UKG and ADP Workforce Now (WFN) in payroll processing or administration.
  • Demonstrated experience with payroll system implementations, conversions, or migrations.
  • 3–5+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, analysis).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a project-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience partnering with third‑party payroll vendors during large-scale implementations.
  • Exposure to high-volume payroll, union environments, or industry-specific payroll requirements.
  • FPC/CPP certification (or working toward certification).
