Job Title: Continuing Education Credit Coordinator
Location: Nashville, TN/Hybrid
Duration: 12+ month Contract
This position is contracted through June 30, 2027. It reports to the Primary Prevention Coordinator in the Office of Primary Prevention. The role helps establish Continuing Education Unit (CEU) protocols for trainings and professional development opportunities sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH). The coordinator will maintain relationships with established CEU providers and submit applications on behalf of TDH departments offering trainings and professional development opportunities.
The position will assess opportunities for TDH to become an accredited provider for healthcare-related CEU opportunities in Tennessee. Funding comes from the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG), intended to strengthen the U.S. public health infrastructure, workforce, and data systems.
- Help establish Continuing Education Unit (CEU) protocols for TDH trainings and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with established CEU providers and submit applications on behalf of TDH departments.
- Assess opportunities for TDH to become an accredited provider for healthcare-related CEU opportunities in Tennessee.
- Report to the Primary Prevention Coordinator in the Office of Primary Prevention.
- Support activities funded through the CDC PHIG to strengthen public health infrastructure, workforce, and data systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; other equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with healthcare-based CEUs, project management, and coordination is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Does not need to have public health experience.
- Experience with continuing education unit applications.
- Self-starter, team player, strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with the TRAIN Learning Management System.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing several projects at one time.
- Experience working with external agency partners.
