* Job Description:
** The New Patient Liaison is responsible for performing the intake of new patient referrals from multiple sources for Tennessee Oncology Clinics. New patient intake includes: triaging the severity of diagnosis, scheduling intake with patient, performing new patient intake phone communication, record retrieval, communication with referring physicians, and scheduling first appointment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Answers incoming new patient calls, enter demographic and insurance pre-registration information; maintains contact with new patients via multiple methods (mailing new patient packets, electronic communication / email, callbacks,
* Requests, collects, documents and assesses all appropriate records to ensure patient has been scheduled properly and all necessary records have been obtained for evaluation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
* Ensures referring physicians have received communication regarding the new patient visit
* C0mmunicate with outside entities to obtain new patient medical history records when appropriate.
* Communicates with team members, clinic staff and referring Provider offices.
* Coordinates with Clinic staff to schedule new patient appointments
* Additional responsibilities may be assigned

* Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient information
* Exhibits high degree of initiative, judgment and discretion
* Promotes highest ethical standards
* Effectively communicates both orally and in writing
* Adheres to all Tennessee Oncology policies and procedures

* EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
*** HS Diploma required
* Advanced PC skills with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft products including Word and Excel
* Prefer experience in healthcare, customer service
* Prefer experience with EMR
** PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:
• Able to travel to other clinics when necessary
• Able to lift 25 pounds.
