Licensed Intake Clinician Days

- Demonstrate advanced clinical skills and the ability to assess patients to determine appropriate level of care.
- Identify cultural considerations, gender identity and preferred language for patients and family.
- Perform advanced practice assessments and maintain timely documentation in compliance with requirements.
- Assess environment and patient’s safety status and respond to actual and potential safety issues or changes in the patient’s condition.
- Identify risk factors, screening criteria and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement).
- Recognize and act upon unexpected assessment findings.
- Ensure a safe structured milieu with evidence‑based treatment modalities/resources.
- Maintain active and timely communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team and continuum of care providers.
- Provide education and guidance regarding state commitment processes, abuse reporting requirements, duty to warn and guardianship processes.
- Coordinate and provide guidance on complex discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop and maintain a community resource guide including access to public assistance/alternatives.
- Facilitate and participate in community education, activities and support groups (as appropriate to scope).
- Apply appropriate age/developmental stage specific standards, policies and procedures, and guidelines in assessing and treating patients to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain professionalism and use good communication skills in interacting with peers, staff, patients, families and in resolving conflicts.
- Maintain clear professional boundaries with peers, patients and families.
- Serve as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payer representatives and other parties regarding behavioral services.
- Review, coach and assist with training of new staff/interns as assigned within approved practice and program guidelines.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Master’s degree.
