Job Title: Therapist, Behavioral Care Center

Job Summary: Provide individual and group counseling with an emphasis on prevention, recovery, and resiliency. Work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health.

• Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities to assist consumers in achieving treatment goals.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ behavioral health needs and update treatment goals and interventions as needed.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and consumers’ progress in resolving identified problems and moving toward defined objectives.
• Refer patients, consumers or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
• Meet with families, team providers, and care managers in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
• Assist in the development of discharge plans and provide follow‑up services as needed.
• Provide training as needed on topics related to mental health, engagement, and de‑escalation techniques.
• Learn about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.

• Master’s degree (M.A., M.S.) in a mental health field.
• Licensed or license‑eligible.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
