Job SummaryThis role is a second‑shift core laboratory position in a state‑of‑the‑art lab that uses Windows technology. The incumbent performs routine and complex clinical pathology testing and manages laboratory instruments, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely delivery of results. The work supports accurate laboratory testing that informs patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Provides patient‑focused care through accurate performance of routine and complex tests across pre‑analytic, analytic, and post‑analytic stages.
- Performs qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures, including reagent preparation and quality control, according to required protocols with precision and efficiency.
- Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, principles, instruments, and physiological conditions affecting test results.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Data Analysis (Novice):
Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate data analysis in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Navigates established technology environments to locate, validate, extract, and format data for analysis, and can modify and run queries and standard reports. - Quality Assurance (Novice):
Provides continuous analysis and evaluation of work processes, striving for improvement by questioning value and contributing creative solutions. Participates in establishing, communicating, and monitoring quality standards. - Equipment Maintenance (Novice):
Demonstrates aptitude for maintaining equipment, ensuring sufficient parts inventory. - Diagnostic Testing (Novice):
Demonstrates proficiency in diagnostic testing with sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to deliver reliable results. - Mentoring & Coaching (Novice):
Constructively trains and mentors others, provides positive direction and feedback, and removes roadblocks to success.
Certifications: LIC-Medical Laboratory Act – Tennessee;
Medical Laboratory Scientist – American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP);
Medical Technologist – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
Work Experience: Relevant laboratory work experience.
Experience Level: Less than 1 year
Education: Bachelor’s degree (required)
