Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Centralized Scheduler to manage MRI referral scheduling across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a background in imaging services, particularly MRI, and understand the unique considerations involved in preparing patients or scans. This role involves proactive outreach to patients, verifying their readiness for MRI procedures, and ensuring smooth coordination between referring providers and imaging teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review MRI referrals and contact patients to schedule appointments in a timely manner.
  • Conduct pre-screening calls to confirm patient information and MRI readiness.
  • Ask specific screening questions to identify any foreign objects (such as metal implants, pacemakers, or surgical clips) that could interfere with the MRI process.
  • Assess patient’s ability to comfortably fit into the MRI machine and elevate any potential concerns.
  • Coordinate with referring physicians and imaging staff to resolve scheduling conflicts or patient readiness issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications, appointment details, and screening outcomes in the scheduling system.
  • Provide patients with clear instructions regarding appointment preparation and arrival times.
  • Support departmental goals by meeting scheduling accuracy, timeliness, and patient satisfaction standards.
Qualifications
  • Medical or imaging-related coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience in medical scheduling, imaging center coordination, or MRI services strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and pre-screening requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in using scheduling software and electronic medical record systems.
