ScheduleFull‑Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Job SummaryEvaluates, treats and counsels patients with hearing disorders to improve communication function through the use of cochlear implants. Initiates collaboration with the health‑care team to meet patient‑care, outcomes and system‑improvement objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic audio logic evaluations
- Complete cochlear implant candidacy assessments and pre‑operative evaluations
- Perform device activation (“switch‑on”), programming, mapping, and long‑term follow‑up care
- Troubleshoot CI devices, accessories, and assistive technologies
- Provide counseling, rehabilitation guidance, and education to patients and families
- Deliver general audiology services
- Maintain detailed documentation and clinical outcome tracking
- Collaborate with otologists, SLPs, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support the education and training of AuD students and residents in Vanderbilt’s top‑ranked academic environment
- Doctor of Audiology (AuD)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC‑A)
- Eligibility for Tennessee audiology licensure
- Demonstrated experience in cochlear implant evaluation and programming
- One year of cochlear implant clinical experience (adult and/or pediatric)
- Experience with Cochlear, MED‑EL, and Advanced Bionics
- Strong patient‑facing communication and counseling skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
