The MRI Technologist performs all MRI procedures according to department policies, ensuring optimal patient care. The role includes on‑call rotation.

• Performs all MRI procedures per department protocols.
  • Complete procedures per patient load by shift.
  • Ensure correct patient information and technical settings are entered before execution.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media per protocol.
  • Perform venipuncture using sterile technique.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy.
  • Record, process, and archive images for evaluation.
  • Film all cases promptly and send image data to PACS.
• Perform tasks related to proper execution of MR examinations per hospital policies.
  • Accept assignments positively and perform necessary duties.
  • Restock and maintain assigned work area.
  • Assist in patient movement to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and imaging table with restraint devices as needed.
  • Participate in on‑call coverage as needed.
• Perform RIS transactions to ensure accurate patient and procedure information for records and billing.
  • Complete patient exam in RIS.
  • Review exam charges and correct as necessary.
• Conduct visual maintenance checks on equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Perform QA procedures.
  • Provide clear information regarding mechanical problems and service needs.
  • Record downtime and notify personnel.
  • Know MRI safety and shutdown procedures.
• Communicate with staff and physicians during MR procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling routine and emergency exams.
  • Handle calls courteously and efficiently.
  • Report patient‑related issues to appropriate chain of command.
• Demonstrate competency across age ranges (neonatal to geriatric).
  • Explain procedures and maintain patient comfort.
  • Respect patients’ right to privacy.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Ensure safety criteria are met.
  • Monitor for acute difficulty or anxiety.
  • Abide by professional ethics.
• Assist in identifying patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate information.
  • Evaluate history for MRI capability.
  • Deliver verbal education suited to age and learning level.
• Complete required documentation forms.
  • Log incidents and risk management forms timely.
  • Complete patient education and discharge forms.
  • Fulfill departmental documentation for patient log, education, history.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate professional attributes and technical skill.

• Certifications: LIC-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Licensure‑Others
• Work Experience: Relevant work experience
• Experience Level: 1 year
• Education: Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program
