LocationNashville, TN - hybrid.
HoursFull time, Monday‑Friday dayshift.
CompensationDependent on experience.
Duties / Responsibilities- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for patients throughout trauma center and various settings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top tier psychiatric care for residents.
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary.
- Conduct daily rounds in designated hospital, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert psychiatric assessments and recommendations.
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
- Offer education and support to residents and families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
- Participate in one weekend shift per month and additional on‑call shifts as needed, providing emergency psychiatric care and consultation.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health.
- Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in the state of TN.
- Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC).
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Active and unrestricted DEA license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist.
