Job Purpose:

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for direct client care and reports back to the Operations Manager and Program Director any relevant information.

A.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follows the company's policies, procedures and protocols
  • Completes client intakes in EMR upon admission.
  • Types and performs data entry as needed for communication purposes
  • Organizes and uploads documents to client charts (if applicable)
  • Conforms to all necessary quality assurance standards
  • Drug tests clients effectively according to waived testing procedures
  • Greets scheduled visitors and coordinates them to appropriate area or person
  • Follows up with facility rules and expectations, and helps clients comply with contracts
  • Organizes cleaning supplies and materials
  • Makes copies of printed materials
  • "Observe and report" for overall client care
  • Performs all necessary documentation regarding clients (i.e. BAC and UA results)
  • Communicates effectively with Operations Manager and Program Director about completion of job duties and responsibilities
  • B. Expectations

      Is prompt and on time for work, assignments and meetings. Notifies supervisor prior to lateness or absence. Understands that excess absences pose a hardship on other employees.

      Completes all chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.

    Minimum Qualifications Education, Experience and Licensure
    • Has a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Preferably has one year of experience in the field of substance abuse or mental health treatment
    • Has CPR and First Aid certifications
    Knowledge
    • An understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures and protocols for behavioral health and/or substance use disorder-related problems
    • A working knowledge of behavioral health and/or substance use disorder
    • A knowledge of regulations concerning behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment
    E. Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
