Job Summary

Provides technical assistance, oversees and implements behavioral assessment and intervention, consults with individuals and organizations or teams, and coaches educators, care providers, families, and community members related to addressing dangerous or disruptive behavior in the school, home, or community for individuals aged 3-22 who are receiving special education services in the state of Tennessee.

Education Requirements

Masters Degree;
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential

Key Functions and Responsibilities
  • Conducts appropriate formal and informal assessments in the school, home, or community context to create and support individualized and intensive plans for increasing safety, engagement, inclusion and/or independence.
  • Collaborates with others (e.g. teachers, caregivers, direct care workers, and other providers) in conducting assessments, designing treatment plans, implementing interventions, assessing progress, and fading supports to achieve desirable student outcomes.
  • Contributes to a wide range of technical assistance initiatives, including:
    • Leading in-person and virtual training sessions in school, home, and community settings, including workshops, webinars, communities of practice, and office hours
    • Conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
    • Leading Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development
    • Assessing and providing consultation relative to planning for and documenting individualized behavioral needs and supports within Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
    • Providing individualized training and coaching related to assessment and intervention
    • Conducting analyses of videos, observations, and submitted data or documents (e.g. FBA, BIP, IEP)
    • Providing written or verbal feedback to trainees or consultees on submitted work samples, processes, data, plans, or documents
    • Developing, editing, and revising content to be used in synchronous or asynchronous training materials
    • Conceptualizing, planning, and delivering novel technical assistance initiatives responsive to requests from our funders or customers
    • Representing TRIAD or its funders within practitioner conferences or events as requested
  • Supervises registered behavior technicians/graduate students by providing instruction, guidance/counsel, and training to ensure provision of competent student support and completion of appropriate documentation and competent student care.
  • Plans, supports, and evaluates RBT actions that are in person, remote, synchronous, and asynchronous.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of novel behavior analytic programming across the contexts and populations above.
  • Travels overnight within the state of Tennessee to provide trainings, conduct on-site visits to model and coach strategy implementation, and run behavioral assessments.
  • Responds to requests for support, guidance, feedback or assistance outside of conventional work hours (e.g., nights, weekends) as needed.
  • Maintains certification in good standing under the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Has or will pursue and maintain Licensure to practice as a Behavior Analyst in the state of Tennessee.
