Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Acute Care – PRN

Location: Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital – Tullahoma, TN

Schedule: 8‑hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), flexible coverage for PTO. Weekend staffing needs higher. Schedule provided at least 2 weeks in advance.

Responsible for administering and directing appropriate Physical Therapy interventions as prescribed by a qualified physician and directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsible for effective communication and accurate documentation. Displays professional behavior in accordance with APTA Code of Ethics and CHS philosophy of service.

• Administer and direct physical therapy interventions as prescribed by a physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Deliver high-quality care to patients with acute medical conditions.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Uphold professional conduct aligned with the APTA Code of Ethics and Vanderbilt Health's values.

• Active Tennessee PTA license required.
• Experience in acute care or hospital-based physical therapy preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and weekend staffing needs.
